El Pit Cenote is known for its halocline, a layer of water where saltwater and freshwater meet. This results in a fascinating visual effect, as the clear freshwater above appears to shimmer and distort when encountering the denser saltwater below.
Diving in El Pit Cenote reveals a mesmerizing array of stalactites, stalagmites, and other limestone formations. These geological wonders have been created over thousands of years by the slow dripping of water that is highly saturated with minerals.
After the Pit you will head to the secluded Cenote Nicte Ha. With its crystal-clear turquoise waters and intricate limestone formations, Nicte Ha Cenote provides an unforgettable diving experience. As you descend into the cenote, you’ll be surrounded by the natural beauty of the underground world.
During the dive, you’ll navigate through caverns and tunnels adorned with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. The play of light and shadows creates a mystical atmosphere, making every moment underwater feel like a magical adventure. The visibility is excellent, allowing you to fully appreciate the intricate formations and the vibrant colors of the underwater environment.
